A 6-pack of Cabernet from around the world; Cabernet-based blends from Bordeaux, South Africa, Australia and the USA; a pure Cabernet from Chile and a Cabernet Franc (a varietal often found in Bordeaux blends) from the Loire valley.
You may wonder why Bordeaux, in particular, always blends other varietals with their Cabernet or Merlot dominated wines. As one Bordelais winemaker put it, this wine is like a donut with something missing in the middle, so we added some, in his case, Petit Verdot. Ch Moulin Rouge is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Miles Mossop Maxis is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Wirra Wirra is a blend of Cabernet, Shiraz and Merlot whilst Lohr also has a touch of Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot. Errazuriz being pure Cab is seemingly unusual for its lack of supporting varietals. The Filliatreau is pure Cabernet Franc.
